The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl

The rival boy bands have been locked in a war of words over who is best for months, and Jay McGuiness thinks the only way to settle it will be with a fight. Jay said, “It’d have to be a pub brawl, wouldn’t it? And we wouldn’t be doing any of that fancy fighting. It’s not like we know kung fu or anything. We’d just do what boys do.”

Jay, who makes up The Wanted alongside Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker and Siva Kaneswaran, also thinks his group are set to win. When asked about the outcome by the Daily Star newspaper, he laughed, “Who do you think?” Max, 24, also joked about how the feud with One Direction – which includes Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – started. Max explained, “I think they fancy us really. It’s just their way of flirting. It all started because we said they were like the Jonas Brothers. But we like the Jonas Brothers. We didn’t mean it offensively.”

The boy band battle stepped up in November when Zayn called Max a “geek” and a “wannabe” on twitter, prompting him to offer to settle their differences over Christmas, when they both played the Jingle Bell Ball in New York. Max tweeted Zayn: “Tell me you’re (sic) problems without the 8 security in NYC… The only problem I have with you is the s**t banter. Grow up son (sic).” Zayn replied back:”I’d f**king love to, see you in new York big man ha u clown (sic).”

Brad Pitt has created a Twitter account… in China that is!

The 49-year-old actor has joined the social networking website Sina Weibo and has already sent out a tweet from his verified account.

“It is the truth. Yup, I’m coming …” Brad wrote on his account, which is currently being followed by over 160,000 people.

Brad‘s tweet alludes that he will be visiting China, where he was reportedly banned from in the 1990s after the country was unhappy with its depiction in the film Seven Years in Tibet.

On waiting to have children:
“I’ve always wanted to have kids, but I’m glad I didn’t until now. When I was thinking about [working and being a mother] originally, I was really nervous about it…I think I would make a lousy stay-at-home mom. It just wouldn’t suit me. I feel so fortunate, in that I’ve had this arrow-straight focus…that I wanted to act.”

On her relationship with husband Hugh Dancy:
“Hugh was just the right partner for me. I got very, very lucky. There’s only so much credit you can take when it just sort of works, you know? And obviously we work hard at maintaining our relationship – that is central to both our lives – but at the same time, it’s just this kind of ease that I can’t really account for.”

On meeting President Obama:
“Hugh was like, ‘We have to meet Obama,’ and we walked over before we could think and found ourselves shaking hands with him. Hugh realized that he’d forgotten to actually properly introduce himself, and [President Obama] was like, ‘And you are?’ And Hugh was like, ‘I’m sorry, Mr. President.’ I said, ‘I’m Claire Danes,’ and he said, ‘Oh, you’re a fine actress.’ And I said, ‘You’re a fine president!’ And he said, ‘Oh, you’re a finer actress than I am president.’ I didn’t have any retort. Hugh and I went immediately to the bar and had a big shot of vodka.”

Rihanna is on vacation in Ireland without Chris Brown. The Diamond singer, who has reconciled with Chris even though he is still on probation for viciously assaulting her in 2009, jetted to Dublin on Friday where she checked in to the Merrion Hotel, according to the Irish Mail On Sunday newspaper. While Chris isn’t in Ireland with Rihanna, he spent New Year’s Day in bed with her.

The Turn Up The Music singer posted a picture of himself on Instagram lying in bed under a black and white duvet shortly. Just one hour earlier, Rihanna posted a picture under the same blanket with the caption: “Good morning! Still haven’t slept lol #hello2013.”

The couple’s romantic morning came after they were paid a reported $10 million to perform at an intimate New Year’s Eve gig for guests at an African billionaire’s private party in the Ivory Coast. After the gig on Monday, they jumped on a waiting jet to fly to the Caribbean island of St. Barts so they could celebrate in private. The beautiful singer also spent Christmas Day with Chris and they were spotted snuggling while watching the Los Angeles Lakers in action at the Staples Centre.

The 22-year-old beauty told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine, “My parents have very strong work ethics and have instilled that in me; a love and a respect for what you do and taking pride in it. And then – and this is sort of irritating at times – I’m a bit OCD about perfectionism.

Emma explained, “I’m my own worst critic. I always want to do better. I’m always striving towards the next thing.” The petite star is due to return to her studies at Brown University this January and can’t wait to head back to the Ivy League institution as she feels studying keeps her grounded in the midst of her crazy Hollywood lifestyle. Emma mused, “I think having time to step away and study really, really helps. It helps to give me perspective on things. To be around people who are living their lives in different ways, who have different aspirations.

“It is a strange thing that I do and I can feel quite unnerving. It’s good to remember that it’s a bit mad.” Emma continued, “[Happiness] for me, its about finding satisfaction in the work that I do; it’s to do with having healthy relationships with the people I care about.”

The publicity team for Justin Bieber has been pulling in some major overtime hours this past week. Amidst new reporters that Justin and longtime girlfriend Selena Gomez have split again, photographs of Justin holding what looks like a marijuana cigarette have surfaced. Taken last week in a Newport Beach hotel room, Justin is seen in a number of pictures smiling and holding the cigarette.

While Justin has commented directly on the photo, he did send out a tweet that many are interpreting as an apology, saying “everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up.” and “i see all of u. i hear all of u. i never want to let any of you down. i love u. and..thank u. #beliebers”.

Justin later posted a picture of a new tattoo he had inked on his right shoulder of an Aboriginal Chief in honour of his grandfather. Along with the picture, Bieber posted the message “My grandfather always took me to the stratford culliton every friday night this is for u Grampa … My man @chenterios hooked it up.”

Even with all the negative media attention surrounding the singer, Justin is staying busy with his philanthropic work, surprising seven-year-old Millie Flamm in her hospital room at the Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday evening when he heard she was too ill to attend his concert later that night. While some may see this as a PR ploy to divert attention away from the pictures of Bieber smoking, the singer is known for making frequent visits to sick fans in the hospital.

Friends and family of Millie launched an online campaign urging the 18-year-old pop star to visit after she was forced to sell her tickets two weeks prior to the gig due to her suffering from a relapse in her cancer fight. Her mother, Amanda Flamm, said her daughter “lit up” when Justin walked into the room and hugged her. He then performed his song Baby for her and gave her his guitar pick as a memento from his visit.

Amanda told local newspaper the Deseret News “All of a sudden it pulled through and we were able to do a really intimate little meeting with just her and us and Justin and it was incredible and he was so sweet to her. He walked in and her whole face just lit up. She is squeezing on to it [the guitar pick] with all her might and will not let it go.”

Justin posted a photo of himself and Millie cuddling on his Instagram account, adding the caption: “Look at this bundle of joy… I love her.” After he gave her a kiss on the cheek and left, Millie gushed to her mother “You are never going to wash my face again!”
