Emma Stone says she had instant chemistry with boyfriend Andrew Garfield when they first met. The 24-year-old actress, who met her boyfriend of more than one year on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man, has revealed she felt an instant connection to the 29-year-old British actor and it convinced her to do the movie.

Stone told the MailOnline.com “I don’t think you should try to explain the chemistry between two people – it’s either there or it isn’t. Initially, I was worried that The Amazing Spider-Man was going to be all CGI and green screens. But then I got the script, which had these incredible scenes between Peter (Garfield) and Gwen with real emotion and heart. The final audition – where they had me in full costume and hair to shoot scenes with Andrew – convinced me to take the part.”

The petite starlet also revealed that despite her success, she doesn’t believe that money has increased her happiness, saying “It doesn’t buy you love or happiness – my parents taught me that. My father worked so hard for so long to get me where I am. My parents have never acted in their lives. They’re both afraid of public speaking but they’re amazing. They said, ‘We can’t imagine why you want to act but we understand you want to.’”

Emma has also dismissed her status as a style icon, despite being voted Best Dressed Woman by Vogue last year. She said “But really that’s down to my stylist. She says: ‘Do you want to wear this?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure’. And I put it on. In my daily life I just wear what I like. Looking back, I can’t believe how much make-up I used to wear. When I was a teenager I would get a spray tan to cover up my freckles.”

Selena Gomez is rumoured to be dating again after recently calling time on her on/off relationship with Justin Bieber after two years together. The singer and actress was reportedly spotted enjoying a dinner date at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood with a mystery man on Friday night.

The 20-year-old starlet, who was wearing a red dress with a thigh high slit, hid behind the much older man as they entered the restaurant together, just days after her split from the 18-year-old Canadian popstar, according to HollywoodLife.com.

News of her outing follows reports she broke up with Justin, with a source previously saying “Selena didn’t feel Justin was respectful of their relationship. She was constantly catching him in positions with other girls that would make her uncomfortable. She would get super jealous.”

The couple broke up shortly after holidaying in Mexico where they had planned to ring in the New Year together, but got into a huge argument on December 30 after she allegedly found text messages from other girls on his phone.

Gomez was photographed on the red carpet last night after The Golden Globes, hitting up after parties with friends Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and Sarah Hyland. Gomez’s long time friend Taylor Swift was present during the ceremony, where she was nominated but lost to Adele for Best Original Song.

In the cover story, Rihanna gives tips on how to take the perfect Instagram pose, saying “Get a good angle on what’s working for you that day. If it’s boobs, make sure you hit that. If it’s face, make sure it’s fierce.” Judging by these seven covers, everything was working for Rihanna on the day of the shoot.

It’s been almost seven years since we’ve heard a new album from Justin Timberlake, but the Mickey Mouse Clubber turned N’Sync member turned bona fide Hollywood actor has returned to the studio to release his third solo album. After a three day countdown on his website JustinTimberlake.com, the pop star has released his first single with Suit and Tie, confirming that new music from JT was worth the wait.

Producer Timbaland meshed JT’s signature R ‘n B, funk and pop sound on the track, with Timberlake bringing his sexy back with a low down beat that attaches itself to listener’s hips. While Timberlake has collaborated in the past with Beyonce, this time it was Bey’s husband who hit the studio with Justin. Jay Z laid down his own verse on the track, singing about fashion and marriage, two topics that fit both Hova and newly married Timberlake.

Timberlake’s forthcoming album The 20/20 Experience is set to be released later this year, with Timberlake telling fans in an open letter on his website that recording the album “…was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process.

Uh oh indeed, Harry Styles. Despite the Taylor Swift only splitting from the One Direction’s Harry Styles last week, the singer has already channeled her anger into brand new songs about her short-lived romance with the 18-year-old boy bander. A source told The Sun newspaper “Taylor writes music in the same way that other women chat to their friends on the phone. It’s been how she deals with her emotions for most of her life. Harry and Taylor only dated for a short time but there were very strong feelings, so it’s been a tough comedown.”

The 23-year-old country singer is famously open about her string of A-list exes, who include John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal, in her lyrics, but refuses to reveal which of her former flames each song is about, with the exception of her candid hit Dear John. That one was pretty harsh.

Taylor is said to be worried that any new song she releases will be linked to Harry and feels the need to be careful to keep the tune less cryptic this time. The insider added “Lyrics have been written, but Taylor hasn’t come close to deciding whether she’ll ever release them. A song about it will surface at some point but it won’t be anything like the way she had a dig at her other ex John Mayer in one of her other tracks.”

Following her dramatic bust-up with Harry while holidaying together in the Caribbean, Taylor announced she was working on new material last week, tweeting “Back in the studio. Uh oh… (sic)”.

The singer hit the red carpet last night at The Golden Globes where she was nominated for Best Original Song for her track Safe and Sound from The Hunger Games. Swift brought her younger brother, Austin, as her date, who has been photographed by his sister’s side since her split with Styles. Fellow first-time nominee Adele took home the Globe for her track Skyfall. If you’re gonna lose, at least it’s to Queen Adele. She’s the bawse.

Joan Rivers has come to the defense of Kelly Osbourne and blasted Lady Gaga. The comedienne has responded to Gaga’s claims that E! show Fashion Police, in which she and Kelly Osbourne co-star, “breeds negativity” and says Gaga is merely trying to get attention. Showbiz veteran Rivers told the New York Post’s Page Six “Anyone that would wear a pastrami dress or sit in an egg should know about humour. She knows exactly what’s she’s doing. She’s not selling. We haven’t been talking about her until now. It’s time to start laughing. We’ve been doing this for fifty years. Tell Lady Gaga to worry about the maggots in her brain from the meat dress! But I told Kelly that it’s all good because it means Lady Gaga watches Fashion Police!”

The drama stems from Kelly’s comments last October when she said, “Lady Gaga’s fans are the worst” and accused them of encouraging her to commit suicide. Osbourne also claimed the pop superstar had a duty to step in and stop their comments. In response, Gaga penned a lengthy open letter on her fan-based social networking site, LittleMonsters.com, addressed to the Kelly, noting that while she felt empathetic towards Kelly and discourages her fans “from any negativity and violence”, she feels the E! show promotes bullying.

Britney Spears and her fiance Jason Trawick have split up. The 31-year-old popstar and her fiance, who got engaged in December 2011, reportedly mutually decided to end their relationship, with sources close to the pair insisting it was a “friendly break-up” and they simply “grew apart”, according to gossip website TMZ.

While Britney’s legal and personal affairs have been in the hands of her father Jamie Spears since her breakdown in 2008, Jason took on the role of co-conservator, but reportedly asked for news of their break-up to be kept private until his role as conservator ends. This could happen imminently as Jamie attended court on Friday to discuss Britney’s legal situation.

The break-up comes after a hectic week for Britney, who announced she has quit her role on X Factor in order to focus on her music career. Spears released a statement about her departure, saying “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”
