Her new movie “Side Effects” is set to hit theaters on February 8th, and Rooney Mara pitched in on promotions by covering the February 2013 issue of Vogue magazine.

The 27-year-old “Social Network” actress showed off her perfect cheekbones for the David Sims shot front page while opening up about everything from acting to walking the red carpet.Highlights from Miss Mara’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Vogue!

On acting:
“It’s all intuition for me. I never really studied-studied. I think every job I do, I learn something new and get better. I hope, anyway, that I keep evolving… I wouldn’t want just one technique, because I don’t think it would work for every job.”

On the red carpet:
“[It's] a nightmare! It’s a panic attack waiting to happen. I don’t even like people to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me. When we wrap a film and everyone claps and cheers, I turn red. And then I have to walk out onto the middle of this carpet and there are all these photographers, and they’re all screaming at you. And usually there’s a party at the other end of it, so it’s not even like I have solace at the end of the carpet! It’s like then I have to walk into my other nightmare!”

On backpacking in South America:
“It really changed my life. The science was everything that was around us. We would read books by local authors. For history we were learning about the history of where we were. It was amazing. After that, I didn’t want to go to university. What am I going to do—join a sorority and go to frat parties? Because of that, and because I wasn’t that interested in college, I didn’t meet one new person—I’m not even exaggerating!”

Amitabh Bachchan will soon team up with celebrated director Anurag Kashyap for a short film and later in the year, he will shoot for a featured film with the same director.

Excited to be a part of Anurag’s film, Big B wishes he was young as he feels the present generation is “this most interesting period in the life of our film world, riding high on confidence of the youngsters

The 70-year-old posted on his blog srbachchan.tumblr.com, “I work with Anurag Kashyap tomorrow for a short film that he makes, as part of a compilation of short stories being put together as an experiment.”

However, he didn’t reveal the title of the project.

“And later in the year to start a complete film, which he has narrated to me, and which sounds innovative and exciting. The young generation that has found its place in the industry is most commendable. I just love their enthusiasm and drive, their thought process, the confidence that they exude and their absolute faith in the medium which they are associated with,” he posted.

Big B also says, “I can safely say that this period in the history of cinema in India, shall pave the way for a kind of recognition that may never have been witnessed before.”

Amitabh Bachchan wants to be a part of this change, but his age doesn’t permit.

“And as I sit with jaw wide open in adulation and surprise, I regret the fact of not having been young enough to take on and be a part of this most interesting period in the life of our film world. I wish and want to be with all, in all their thinking and endeavour, in their desires and accomplishments … but I do feel that that time has long since passed,” he said.

Kristen Stewart joins Robert Pattinson at Globes afterparty

The Twilight Saga couple of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson put on a united front at the Golden Globes after-party thrown by the show’s hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The private celebration was held at Soho House in West Hollywood following last night’s show, where Pattinson appeared as a last minute presenter.

Robert, 26, looked dapper as he walked the red carpet, where he jokingly presented Fey with a rose. The Cosmopolis actor then headed off to the ceremony solo. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Kristen avoided the Golden Globes altogether and arrived at the VIP after-party in more casual attire at 1 am. Stewart paired jeans and a baggy sweatshirt with sneakers and a backwards cap, hiding her eyes behind shades as she snuck into the star-studded event.

New Girl star Zooey Deschanel, Downton Abbey favourite Michelle Dockery and Knocked Up director Judd Apatow were just some of the stars in attendance at the lavish bash.

Journalists alerted fans to the pair’s secretive reunion via Twitter when they allegedly hit the dance floor together. @marcmalkin posted “just got word that kristen stewart just joined Robert Pattinson at a super private post-@Goldenglobes VIP party. More to come. #eredcarpet (sic)” with @EW adding “#GoldenGlobes after-parties: HBO! Jon Hamm downing food, Rob Pattinson by bar, winner Julianne Moore dancing (sic)”.

Argo and Les Miserables big winners at the Golden Globe Awards

Ben Affleck’s Iranian hostage drama Argo took home two trophies at The Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles last night, with Affleck claiming Best Director and Best Motion Picture Drama, the biggest award of the night. Ben dedicated the win to his wife, Jennifer Garner, saying “I want to thank my wife who is the reason why I’m standing here. I adore you. I love you so much. Thanks for sitting through this. You are my everything. Thank you.”

Les Miserables won in the trophies tally, taking home Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress for Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway respectively, as well as Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.

Former US president Bill Clinton made a surprise appearance at the event, introducing Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln the biopic of US president Abraham Lincoln, which was up for seven awards. The film only triumphed in one category, with Daniel Day Lewis named Best Actor. Accepting his award, Day-Lewis said “If I had this on a timeshare basis with my wonderful gifted colleagues, I might just hope to keep it for one day of the year, and I’d be happy with that.”

In the Best Actress category, Jessica Chastain won for her role as a CIA agent tracking Osama bin Laden in Zero Dark Thirty. Picking up her trophy, Jessica said “I’ve auditioned and fought and been on the sidelines for years. To be here now, it’s a beautiful moment.”

Other winners on the night included Christoph Waltz, who was named Best Supporting Actor for his role in Django Unchained and Jennifer Lawrence, who took home Best Actress, Musical or Comedy for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.

Adele wins Best Song at the Golden Globe Awards for Skyfall

UK singer Adele made her first public appearance since giving birth in October last year at last night’s Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles and took home a Globe for her theme to James Bond film Skyfall, written alongside producer Paul Epworth.

Accepting the trophy, Adele gave a candid and funny speech, exclaiming “Oh my God. Oh my God. Honestly, I’ve come out for a night out with my friend. We’re new mums. We’ve literally come for a night out, I was not expecting this. It’s very strange to be here and thank you so much for letting me be part of your world for a night. It’s amazing, we’ve been p***ing ourselves, you know.”

Adele, 24, also thanked Daniel Craig, who stars as Bond in the film and her partner, charity boss Simon Konecki. She said “He’s been such a wonderful Bond, and to my boyfriend Simon who convinced me to do it, and to my lovely son – thank you so much.” Addressing Craig, Adele added that the actor “really turned the vibe around” and will “be my Bond forever.”

Backstage the star declined to reveal the name of her newborn son, saying it was “too intimate” but, did talk about how working on a Bond theme was much different to her usual songwriting. She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper “It’s absolutely amazing, it’s very surreal and quite hilarious because this is not my normal field. My inspiration normally comes from heartbreak but I don’t think I’m going to be devastated again. I had my child two weeks before the film came out so it was bad timing. It was such an honour to be involved. Normally I write about my misery and this time I wrote according to someone’s script. It’s absolutely amazing. I took the risk and I’m very proud of it.”

Adele beat out Taylor Swift, who was nominated for her song Safe and Sound from The Hunger Games soundtrack. Both women were nominated for their first Golden Globe last night.
