Officially beginning his second term in office, President Barack Obama took the Oath of Office in a private ceremony at the White House on Sunday (January 20).
Accompanied by his wife, Michelle, and daughters Sasha and Malia, the commander-in-chief was sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts just before noon in the Blue Room.Vice-President Joe Biden also started his second term, with his ceremony taking place just after 8 am at his official residence.
A public re-enactment will take place on Monday (January 21) in front of the U.S. Capitol, with more than eight hundred thousand people expected to attend.
