Ajay Devgn signs a whopping 400 crore satellite rights deal

Ajay Devgn signs a whopping 400 crore satellite rights deal

Ajay--Devgn

Ajay Devgn, who has been delivering blockbusters continuously at the box-office, is now all set to make his mark on the television too. He just signed a whopping 400 crore deal with a leading GEC to grant the satellite rights of all his movies which are going to release in the next 4 years. Salman Khan was the only actor who was involved in such deal in the past.

It’s been said that Ajay Devgn’s recent superhits Bol Bachchan, Son of Sardar and Singham have generated huge TRP ratings with Son of Sardar being the movie to get best ever TRP rating in the history of Bollywood no wonder Ajay Devgn has been approached for such a deal.

A reliable source says “”After Salman’s deal, Devgn is the next superstar to sign such a huge deal. The agreement is for five years and will roughly have around 10 of his films. Ajay is one of the most popular guys in satellite business as some of his recent films have done tremendous business. Films like Bol Bachchan, Singham, Son Of Sardaar and the Golmaal series have not only crossed the Rs 100 crore mark but have also generated huge TRPs on satellite channels.

Ajay Devgn who is busy shooting Satyagraha said “Business is becoming increasingly open and clear, so it’s easier to deal directly. I am securing the producer a higher value, so he benefits eventually, as they often depend on satellite rights to garner a substantial amount of the cost of production. But I am also ensuring a certain amount for myself. For the rest, like actors’ fees, etc., all depends on the relationship between an actor and the producer.”

Ajay Devgn, who always has been in the top league of Bollywood actors is now making his mark on the television too.

Taylor Swift speaks out against Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Taylor Swift speaks out against Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Taylor-and-Amy

Appearing on the cover of this month’s issue of Vanity Fair, Taylor Swift was asked her thoughts on the famous Golden Globes joke from earlier this year, when hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kidded the country singer that Michael J. Fox’s young son, who was on stage to hand out awards during the show, should stay away from the singer. When the subject was brought up in the interview, Swift responded to Vanity Fair’s writer, saying “You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women,’”.

Taylor, I love you, but you didn’t get it. These two women weren’t putting you down. They weren’t being anti-feminists, a term you refuse to align yourself with. They weren’t really telling men no to date you. They were, on the other hand, making a joke about the FACT that you have sold millions of records full of songs slamming your exes. Have you heard Dear John? What the heck did John Mayer do to you?

The Vanity Fair article, which was released today, has been making it’s way around the internet and gaining steam for Swift’s comments regarding the Globes hosts. I’m still hoping that this has somehow been misquoted and that Swift was not saying that Fey and Poehler’s joke was worthy of her use of Madeline Albright’s quote. Amy and Tina not helping women? Have you seen Mean Girls? Seriously, have you seen it?!

The Hollywood Reporter was able to reach Poehler today for a comment, with the comedienne telling the mag “Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff. ”

Poehler gets it.

Predictions for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards

Predictions for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards

Perks 2

The nominations for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards will be announced today at 7:58 p.m. ET in a special broadcast. Announcing Movie of the Year will be this year’s host Rebel Wilson and MTV News’ Josh Horowit .

The nominations announcement will continue in a 30-minute live-stream on MTV.com. Stars of Jersey Shore and Teen Wolf will make appearances to unveil the nominees and new categories, such as Best Musical Moment and Best Shirtless Performance.

Blockbuster films like The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers were snubbed at the Oscars, but hopefully that won’t be the case for the MTV Movie Awards, which cater to general audiences rather than film buffs.

Expect Twilight to dominate (undeservingly) in all categories. The franchise has been a favourite of the MTV Movie Awards since 2009. You might as well rename the show The Twilight Awards.

Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have won Best Kiss five times in a row. In tradition of this category, recipients lock lips on stage to tease audiences. Twihards are desperate to see the real-life couple finally kiss on live television. With this being the last film in the series, perhaps it will finally happen?

Although Twilight’s rival, The Hunger Games, was released in theatres in 2012, it was recogni ed at last year’s show. To fill the void of the popular teen book-turned film spot is The Perks of Being a Wallflower starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, E ra Miller and Nina Dobrev.

Justin’s rumoured girlfriend does a cover of As Long as You Love Me

EllaPaige

Okay, Beliebers. I know it’s hard to see Justin with another girl. And maybe Ella-Paige Roberts Clarke isn’t Justin’ newest girlfriend, but we must admit, she can certainly sing. Ella-Paige released this cover of Justin Bieber’s As Long As You Love Me and Rihanna’s Diamond in a really cool mashup called Shine Bright As Long Long As You Love Me. The song isn’t a pound for pound mashup, she takes the two and makes it completely her own.

Check out the track below and tell us what you think. Are you heartbroken that Justin might be with another girl? Or do you just want him to be happy? Or (cue suspenseful music) do you want to see him and Selena Gome back together? Tell us in the comments section below or tweet us @MuchMusic!

Justin Bieber booed on stage during London concert

Justin Bieber booed on stage during London concert

Bieber-Boo

Justin Bieber’s UK travels are going from bad to worse. First, the teen singer posted on his Twitter page that he was having the ‘worst birthday’ on Sunday after London club Cirque du Soir denied a number of the Biebs underage friends admittance to the venue, including Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s 14 year-old son, Jaden.

Now Bieber is feeling a lack of love from his fans. After arriving on stage somewhere between 40 minutes and two hours (depending on who you ask) late for his first of four shows last night at London’s O2 Arena, the Biebs was met by thousands of booing Beliebers. The Daily Mail in the UK is reporting that many of Justin’s young fans left the concert before getting to see their idol because of the late start time.

Bieber did not address the boo’s or lateness of his arrival during the show, but did send a series of tweets out to his fans last night to explain his tardiness and offer an apology. Justin explained that with three opening acts he was not scheduled to go on stage until 9:35 pm, with technical issues then forcing him to delay his arrival until 10:10 pm. Justin went on to say that there is no excuse for his lateness and that he respects his fans.

Let’s hope the rest of Justin’s Believe Tour goes a bit smoother in the UK.
