Ajay Devgn fought with the tiger for real in Himmatwala

Ajay Devgn fought with the tiger for real in Himmatwala

ajay-Devgn (2)

Ajay Devgn is all set to fight with a tiger in his upcoming movie ‘Himmatwala’ and this will be the second time for him after he did similar stunt in Vijaypath(1994) which was the highlight of the film back then.

Himmatwala actually gave lot of misconceptions to the people of it being a spoof but director Sajid Khan has clarified that it is just based on 1980’s and has all the flavours of Bollywood cinema of that era but not at all a spoof. And he also mentioned Ajay’s fight with the tiger in the movie is a serious one.

Ajay Devgn said, “This is the second time I have fought a tiger in life after Vijaypath, we took complete safety precautions. And now it is much easier. In Vijaypath when I fought a tiger, there was no safety. It was just him and me in the cage, and fighting.”

The movie is all set to release this march 29th and has created huge bu in the B-Town already with its unique theme of bringing back magic of 1980’s and Sajid Khan challenging the crowd about Ajay Devgn’s entrance in the movie and audio is already topping the charts.

Shahrukh Khan to work under John Abraham’s direction

Shahrukh Khan to work under John Abraham’s direction

Shahrukh-khan

Shahrukh Khan, who is always open to the new experiments and tentative projects more than any other Bollywood actor is now is in discussions with Bollywood’s hunk John Abraham for a project that would be produced and directed by John Abraham himself.

However, Shahrukh Khan is not willing to reveal anything as of now, “Me and John discussed about this for the first time in the sets of ‘Kaal’ and then John took it seriously and came up with an idea which we have discussed vaguely and I think it’s too early to talk about it in detail” said Shahrukh during a press conference.

On the other hand, John Abraham has already turned producer and tasted success with the movie “Vicky Donor” is all excited after Shahrukh liked his idea and wanted him to develop the script.

Shahrukh Khan has been struggling to deliver a true blockbuster after ‘Om Shanti Om’ even though all his movies after it crossed the 100 crore mark. Considering Shahrukh having handful of huge projects coming down in the next two years he is willing to go ahead with this experimental venture with John.

Hope something significant will come out of this super star combination.

Trailer for ‘The Bling Ring’ starring Emma Watson

Emma Watson shows off her wild side in the new teaser trailer for Oscar-winning writer/director Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring. The 56-second teaser, backed perfectly to Sleigh Bells’ Crown on the Ground, shows footage of youth recklessness, partying and home invasions.

The film is based on a true story about a group of teenagers who stole from the homes of celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom. Portraying the mischievous teens are Emma Watson, Taissa Farmiga (the 18-year-old sister of actress Vera Farmiga), Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister and Georgia Rock.

Coppola is known for bringing out strong and natural performances from her leading ladies, so it will be exciting to see Watson in a role that is completely different from anything she’s ever done. If you’re a fan of Coppola’s work, then you know she is a master in portraying stories of teenage angst. I expect there is more depth to this story than what is shown.

The film is set for a limited release on June 14, 2013. Are you going to watch it? Tell us in the comments section below!

Movie Review : Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga

Movie Review : Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga

saare jahaan se mehnga

Movie: Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga

Bollywood Celebden Rating: 2/5

Cast: Sanjay Mishra, Vishwa Mohan Badola, Pragaty Pandey, akir Hussain, Sitaram Panchal

Story: Rupesh Thapliyal, Vijay Manral

Music: Manish J.Tipu

Director: Anshul Sharma

Story:
Puttanpal (Sanjay Mishra) is a typical middle class person who works in a government veterinary hospital and has a small family with wife Noori(Pragaty Pandey) who runs a small beauty parlour, a retired father Nagpal(Vishwa Mohan Badola) who wants to live privileged life and an unemployed brother Gopal(Sitaram Panchal) who is struggling to pass his intermediate since 3 years. Puttanpal is very frustrated with the hike of the prices on basic commodities by the government due to which he comes up with an idea within the system’s law where he can buy all the required stuff for survival which is sufficient for 3 years at once by taking a loan. However, he will be facing lot of consequences from a loan officer ( akir Hussain) who thinks Puttanpal is cheating the government. The rest of the movie is about how Puttanpal gets away from the Loan officer proving what he is doing is right and not against the law.

Artists Performance:
Sanjay Mishra was good as usual as a frustrated middle class husband who is not even able to feed non-veg to his family once in a month, especially his acting in climax is emotionally well enacted. All the other characters are pretty much new and they did decent job is all I can say but nothing exceptional in terms of performances considering the casual nature of movie.

Technical Aspects:
The movie is mostly shot in a typical middle class house and the neighbourhood around it, so there is nothing much to ask from a cinematographer but it was decently presented. Most of the movie is about dialogues and drama so there is not much impact from music director and couple of songs that he composed are forgettable.

Analysis:
The whole movie gives you the feeling of being pretty casual with not much melodrama, twists, item songs and stuff like that. It just goes on with the realistic feel of how a typical middle class family suffers. 1st half of the movie is all about setting the tone by building up the characters and getting us connected to the theme of the movie which was done okay. 2nd half of the movie is about what kind of clever tactics will Puttanpal & Co implement to outsmart the loan officer and solve the issue.

It was indeed an honest attempt by the debutant director Anshul Sharma but end of the day all you can feel while coming out of the movie is questioning “is it worth it?” and it does not leave any kind of impact on you and neither it gives you pleasant feeling while watching. Considering the era of Bollywood which is ruled by intense seductive thrillers, masala clichés, illogical comedies I don’t think “saare Jahan se mehanga” will even go noticed by the audience provided the lack of publicity. If we talk about awards then the movie again fails because there is nothing in it that deserves an award say it an interesting story line or an intense acting performances or something at least considerable.

Bottom Line: If you like watching Doodarshan TV serials of mid 1990’s then wait for the DVD.

Sajid’s challenges everyone on Ajay Devgn’s entry in Himmatwala

Sajid’s challenges everyone on Ajay Devgn’s entry in Himmatwala

Ajay Devgan

Sajid Khan’s open challenge to all! “This is an open challenge that if viewers won’t clap on Ajay’s entry in Himmatwala, I will refund the ticket money”. Well that’s quite a bold challenge Sajid! we hope you win.

During a group interview he said “If you talk about the 1980s – what used to happen in 1980s movies – it doesn’t happen any more – the hero’s entry. Except for a couple of Salman Khan’s films, no importance is given to the hero’s entry. The kind of entry that Amitabh Bachchan had in Coolie, for me, it’s the entry of all time,”. He further added that “I have designed such an entry for Ajay Devgn that I was clapping while I was writing it, I was clapping while I was shooting it. I have given a lot of stress on entry,”

Well, all bets are on Ajay Devgn now and for everyones sake, we hope he stands up top the expectations. Meanwhile on the sets of Himmatwala, Ajay Devgn is seen dancing to the tunes of his little son, Yug who says Papa Dance! Not one to miss out on such an opportunity, director Sajid Khan immediately seated Yug on the his chair and let the toddler make his dad hop!

Soha Ali Khan’s Royal background helped her character

Soha Ali Khan’s Royal background helped her character

Soha Ali Khan

Soha Ali Khan who plays the role of Ranjana in Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam Returns, says that since the origin of the character was set against a royal background, she could easily relate to her character.

Being from a royal family, Soha Ali Khan understood the real depths of her character. But when it comes to surviving in the fast life of a Metropolitan like Mumbai, Soha Ali Khan’s royalty takes a back seat. When questioned if her real like much like her reel life, the actress laughs and says, “I am living a in a two bedroom flat in the suburbs of Mumbai and am dependent on a single maid to do household chores who strangely does not turn up most of the time and end up doing all the work. What royalty are we talking about then?”

She also adds that the Royal life is fading away and is being replaced by independent lives. She says “I remember my grandmother telling us to be controlled with our emotions especially in public. We were taught to be restrained in our behaviour and I have essayed my character in a similar fashion in my film “

Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns Review : Don’t miss it

Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns Review : Don’t miss it

Saheb biwi aur gangster returns

Film : Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns

Bollywood Celebden Rating: 4/5

Cast : Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill, Soha Ali Khan and Irrfan Khan

Story : Tigmanshu Dhulia and Sanjay Chauhan

Music: Sandeep Chowta
Direction: Tigmanshu Dhulia

Story :

This movie is a sequel in its true sense, it starts off where it ended in the first part. Saheb (Jimmy Shergill) is in his wheel chair trying to recuperate from gun shot wound and who is looking to get up on his feet get back . Biwi (Mahie Gill) is an MLA now. Their relationship is just as sour as it was in the first part. Here enters gangster (Irrfan Khan) who also  comes from a royal lineage and wants to take revenge at Saheb. Soha Ali Khan who is love interest of Irrfan Khan but is forced to get married to Jimmy Shergill. Rest of the story is to find out who is the last pair standing.

Performances :

One of the major positives in this movie is the extra ordinary performances put by the actors. Jimmy Shergill once again impresses with his royal performance. The command and the authority he shows while delivering his dialogues, even though he is in a wheelchair is just ama ing. Mahie Gill continues her performance as an needy alcoholic wife and does it really well. Irrfan Khan shines once again in his performance. Soha has a limited role but she excels in it. Other actors also do great work too.

Technical aspect :

Last time, Tigmanshu Dhulia suddenly came from no where and delivered a hit with ‘Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster’. This time it only gets better. With perfect story and apt screenplay, it is treat to watch. The story is filled with unexpected twists and turns. Even though the movie is 145 mins long, you are just glued to the screen for the whole time. The movie goes with steady pace and with the wittiness in the dialogues your left admiring Tigamanshu’s work. Music of the film is good apart from the item song. The background music is excellent.  Cinematography, which was awarded for the prequel is again top notch.

Analysis :

The movie is mixture of good dialogues, good performances  interwoven in a wonderful script, which is executed to perfection. But sadly the movie remains to be just good not great. The occasionally funny scenes, especially the one where a minister who doesn’t know how to stop the porn video which is playing on his laptop just lightens up the mood. The movie is very gripping as the audience is kept wondering will the original saheb-biwi will be alive just like the first part or is there any other ending to this drama. The movie is better than its prequel. So if you liked the first part, you are most likely to be overjoyed by the end of this movie.

Bottomline: Don’t miss this !!
