A love letter to Justin Timberlake

A love letter to Justin Timberlake

Dear Justin,

You don’t know me. But I’ve been a fan for a long time. Like, Mickey-Mouse-Club-long time. I even forgave you in my heart for those frosted tips. But you grew up with *NSYNC and when you released Gone I knew you were ready to come out of the shadows of being in a boy band and do your solo career thing. Cry Me A River. Senorita. That McDonald’s advertisement single. All of it. I loved it. I wanted nothing more than you, your fedora, and your voice.

Then you started to shift.

You started to hang out with Jimmy Fallon more. You started to think about acting. I mean, Alpha Dog was supposed to be a one-off. But then you booked The Social Network. And then you were hilarious in Friends With Benefits. I thought we all lost you to Hollywood forever. I couldn’t blame you though, Mila Kunis is pretty dope.

But you’re back. Suit & Tie. You’re back, baby, you’re back! And your performance at the 2013 Grammys? I’ve never seen something so glorious. Never leave the stage. Never! Love. Love. Love.

I MuchLove you, Justin Timberlake. Don’t ever go away again.

Sincerely,
A big fan at MUCH

Amitabh Bachchan and family donate Rs 25 lakh to charity

Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan lent their supporting hand for charity on Saturday. Together, they raised a whopping Rs.25 lakh (Rs.2.5 million) for a Girl Child Campaign. The whole family went to launch the book titled ‘B70′ that includes 70 paintings by prominent artists of India. The proceeds from the sales of the book will go to the upliftment of children deprived of the basic education and other social needs.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “Early morning.. a PC to give contribution to Plan India of 25 lakhs – proceeds from book ‘B70′ released birthday, for girl child !!,” followed by another tweet, “Normally do not announce charity, but this issue was important keeping recent happenings against women !!”

Jaya told reporters at Bachchans’ office Janak, “Whatever we have got after selling all the books, has been given to Plan India. In future, no matter how many books are sold, after deducting the tax, the entire money will be given to Plan India.”

Granddaughter Aaradhya was missing from the event.

“I was just telling Aishwarya it didn’t occur to me before, we would have got Aaradhya and she would have given the cheque,” added Jaya.

Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya have never believed in discrimination.

“I have always believed there is no difference between a male and female child. I have said it on many forums, and I say it here again. I have a son and a daughter and whatever little we have, will be equally divided,” he said.

“That is my personal belief and that is the belief of Jaya too. I feel we never had any discrimination between a girl child or a boy. They have equal place in our lives,” added Amitabh.

Catch Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah in ‘Naino Mein Sapna’

Catch Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah in ‘Naino Mein Sapna’

Ajay Devgn and Tamanna

Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah are all set to take you back to the vintage 80s, with the latest track of Himmatwala. The 1983 classic number, ‘Naino Mein Sapna’ which was sung by late singer, Kishore Kumar, is now being sung by his son Amit Kumar in the latest version of the film.

The new version of the song is super colorful, with very gaudy costumes.

When asked director Sajid Khan on why he roped in Amit Kumar for the song, he explained, “Re- recording Naino Mein Sapna for me was like being a part of History.

Never before has a son sung the same song in the same style which was rendered by his father 30 years ago. When Amit Kumar started singing Kishoreda’s lines it was almost like Kishoreda had come alive to sing the song for us. There was only 1 Kishore Kumar and there will be only 1 Amit Kumar”

The setting of the song is very similar to that of the original track, with Tamannaah doing full justice with her latka jhatka and Ajay Devgn, donning the retro jacket enacting some of Jeetendra’s dance steps.

‘Naino Mein Sapna’ has been sung by Amit Kumar and Shreya Ghoshal.

Jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani, Himmatwala is slated to hit theatres on March 29.

Catch the song below and do let us know how you liked it.

Movie Review: ‘ABCD’ Any Body Can Dance

Movie Review: ‘ABCD’ Any Body Can Dance

AnyBody Can Dance

‘ABCD’ Any Body Can Dance is India’s first 3d dance film filled with a lot of dance moves but very little acting. No one in the movie can act apart from Kay Kay Menon. The thin story line of ABCD does not help, but it you could find it entertaining if you ignored the story and went for the choreography.

Inspired from the Hollywood series ‘Step Up’, ABCD does a good job living up to the hopes of showing great dance moves. The plot seems predictable though. Prabhu Deva, the chief instructor of a big shot dance company, is betrayed by his business partner and kicked out of his job to be replaced by a fancy American choreographer. He however does not plan to stay low and opens up a dance studio of his own in a garage where he offers dance classes for free for the to the less privileged dance enthusiasts. The rest of the story documents his teaching and training of these students to make them great dancers.

Apart from the knockout dance sequence in the climax and probably a few dance moves [which can also be seen on cable tv with the various dance shows being broadcasted], the movie has little to offer. The 3-D effects aren’t up to the mark and the direction seems amateur. Considering it to be a dance movie, the songs could have been much better too. One odd thing we did not understand was the lack of dancing time Prabhu Deva had. You need to wait till the credits start rolling to see the man dance.

All in all, ABCD is worth watching if you are crazily passionate about dance, otherwise wait for it to be broadcasted on TV!
