Watch new video from Carly Rae Jepsen Tonight I’m Getting Over You

Watch new video from Carly Rae Jepsen Tonight I’m Getting Over You

aCRJGettingOver3

Carly Rae Jepsen has been killing it this year. If you ever doubted the star and wondered if she was going to be one of those sad one hit wonders, then you surely have been proven wrong. Call Me Maybe was a runaway hit, sure, but it only blazed a path so her other great songs like This Kiss and her latest single Tonight I’m Getting Over You can shine. The song is a dance post-break up album with damning Taylor Swiftian lyrics that go, “We’re not lovers/ But more than friends/ Put a flame to every single word you ever said/ No more crying/ To get me through/ I’ll keep dancing till the morning with somebody new/ Tonight I’m getting over you” which are laid on top of a great clubby-dubstep beat.

And now let’s talk about the video. The video features a beautifully shot (and fun) couple with CRJ and her Tiger Beat boyfriend gallivanting all over the streets of Los Angeles. The scene is so playful and cute that I got so wrapped into the first thirty seconds I forgot that this was a break-up song. I was also distracted by the style and art direction of this video. Gone are the days of leggings as pants (please?) and now Carly Rae has been given a wardrobe that is age-appropriate and still fun. Visually, this video is one of her best. And you know what? I’m also happy that though CRJ and her man break-up in the video, the end of it still remains hopeful and optimistic.

Check out the new video by Carly Rae Jepsen, Tonight I’m Getting Over You, and check out a gallery of some of our favourite moments below!

We think Polly Scattergood is better than good

We think Polly Scattergood is better than good

PS

We’re big fans of Polly Scattergood here at MUCH and we want you to get to know this great artist! Polly is a British singer-songwriter and her sound is pretty dark and intense, but still light enough to be ethereal. Her voice reminds me of a more delicate Lykke Li, Bat For Lashes, Oh Land. My music feels like it can pound a nail through your heart and yet be able to lift you up. Kinda how I feel about Ed Sheeran’s music, but in a more feminine and indie-hipster-showgaze-y way.

Check out Charli XCX’s remix of Polly’s track Wanderlust here which is a single off her sophomore album Arrows which drops June 17.

Baby Bruno Mars is even cuter than you imagined

Baby Bruno Mars is even cuter than you imagined

Pauly-and-Bruno

A very small number of performers have the true ‘it’ factor. Their confidence and ease on stage leaves the audience feeling like they’re watching someone who has been performing all their lives. Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Bruno Mars are artists that I would lump together in this small group. Today, the internet has given us a gift in the form of a 23 year-old interview with a then four year-old Bruno Mars, showing that yes, to look like you’ve been performing all your life, you usually have been.

Growing up in Hawaii, Mars was recruited at a young age by his uncle, an Elvis impersonator, to begin performing with the family band The Love Notes. Already going by his nickname and later stage name, Bruno (real name Peter Hernandez) caught the eye of comedian Pauly Shore. To reiterate, Pauly Shore. I know. The internet is weird.

In this clip, Shore gets some tips on dancing like Elvis and Michael Jackson from the talented Mars, who apparently has been rocking a pompadour since childhood. Sorry Bieber, your swag crown has been snatched by four year-old Bruno Mars.

Check out baby Bruno Mars and good luck finding some cat video today that is cuter than this.

One Direction snubbed by Mumford & Sons

One Direction snubbed by Mumford & Sons

MumfordvOneDirection

Mumford & Sons apparently snubbed One Direction at the 2013 BRIT Awards. A source told the UK media news source Mirror that, “[t]he bands were passing in the corridor and 1D made an attempt to chat to them and say there were no hard feelings about them both winning different categories.”

The source continued, “But Mumford were having none of it. They didn’t want to know. It was really awkward and everyone noticed.” Apparently this happened after One Direction took the trophy for Global Success and Mumford had won Best British Band. Louis Tomlinson shared, “It was disappointing… Mumford’s reaction was disappointing. We’re really big fans and wanted to congratulate them. It was a shame.”

What do you guys think? Check out One Direction’s video for One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) here and tell us your thoughts in the comments section. And you can watch the 2013 BRIT Awards on demand now here!

Movie Review : Kai Po Che

Movie Review : Kai Po Che

Kai Po Che

Kai Po Che has been one of the most awaited films this year. So if you ask , does it live up to its hype that it has created over the past few weeks. Then my answer is a definite yes.

The Story is similar to the plot in the book “3 mistakes of my life” though with a few changes.  It is a story of 3 friends Ishaan Bhatt, Omi Shastri and Govind who are trying to make a mark for themselves in Gujrat. They set up a sports academy and they come across an amazing talent who plays cricket awesomely.  Set in the exciting times of 2000’s, Rest of the story is about the implications on their lives and relationships by  real life incidents that happened in those  times like Godhra train incident, Gujrat riots and IND- AUS series.

The story is crisper and shorter when compared to the original story of book. First half of the movie is very casual and funny, it passes off like a breeze but the second half takes a sudden turn and goes into a very serious mode. If you read the book, then there is slight possibility that you may be a little disappointed towards the end. But none the less the performances of the actors and pace of the movie will keep you happy.

Abhishek Kapoor has done a great job, with the way he has handled the script and the way he has executed this whole film. He has come leaps and bounds from his last venture “Rock On”. Screenplay is very engaging at all times, never in the movie you feel left out. Music is very soothing but keeps you asking for more.  Background music by Hitesh Sonik deserves a special mention as the background music elevates the feel of the film to a whole new level. Performances wise there are no complains, each and every character has done theor role to perfection. Be it Shushanth’s Aggresion or Rajkumar Yadav’s resilience or Amit’s ignorance every frame is a treat to watch. Amrita as Shushant;s sister looks very endearing. But RajKumar Yadav’s performance is the one that shines through the most.

I am going with 4/5 stars for this movie. Grab your close friends and just go watch the movie.

Movie Review : Zila Ghaziabad

Movie Review : Zila Ghaziabad

zilaghaziabad
Last 3 to 4 years has been the period of revival for ‘masala’ movies in Bollywood. Big stars like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar have pulled of blockbusters and spun money at the box-office despite their movies lacking strong content and logic. Now here is ZILA GHAZIABAD which falls into the same category.

Let’s begin with the plot, Ghaziabad is known for its gang wars and violence but has been at peace since lot of years. However, Ghaziabad has two major gangs headed by paresh Rawal and Ravi Kissen who are at cold war with Arshad Warsi being the right hand of Paresh Rawal who had go against his own boss under the bad influence of Ravi Kissen and he kills Vivek Oberoi’s brother (Chandrachur Singh) in the process forcing Vivek Oberoi to take up the violence root and avenge his brother’s death. Here begins the new gang war and it is Sanjay Dutt’s job as newly appointed inspector of Ghaziabad to restore the peace for the rest of the film.

While watching Zila Ghaziabad all you can feel is Déjà vu where you will recall lot of Bollywood movies like Dabangg, Omkara, etc. First half hour of the movie is used to build the characters up in a hurry with poor emotional content and then the movie keeps on dragging. Second half is what director wanted to make interesting by introducing Sanjay Dutt but movie becomes boring and predictable. Climax is mediocre with people flying in the air.Having said that, movie has its moments which could be appreciated by mass audience especially some 1 liners and couple of fights, no comedy whatsoever though.

To keep the audience glued to the screen the director needs create strong characters with powerful dialogues blended with gripping screenplay. But director absolutely fails in doing so. In spite of having good actors like Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Arshad warsi director could not make those characters interesting at all, coming to the screenplay you can predict each and every scene that will follow and adding to the flaws emotional content was also very poor.

Coming to the actor performances, Arshad Warsi did justice to his character as the ugly guy who keeps on killing and easily gets influenced by others, Vivek Oberoi is decent as a good guy who is dragged into crime world unwantedly but nothing new compared to his previous movies, Sanjay Dutt’s character is what director wanted to rely on during the 2nd half but he was not that convincing and moreover his character resembles Salman khan in Dabangg series. Paresh Rawal and Ravi Kissen were decent; Charmme Kaur and Minisha Limba hardly had any screen time. Other characters are forgettable.

On whole, Zila Ghaziabad is masala movie with nothing novel and is aimed at single screen crowd. It will not persist much long in the multiplexes for sure, we have to wait and see if it makes something out of B and C canters.

I would rate it 2/5.
