Making sure their son has style early on, Shakira and her soccer player partner, Gerard Piqué, outfitted their day-old boy in a personalized pair of Nikes on Wednesday (January 23).
In a picture posted by the proud papa to his WhoSay account, the new baby’s feet are decked out in white tennis shoes with his name, Milan, spelled out across the straps.The “Waka Waka” songstress gave birth to the couple’s first child on Tuesday (January 22) in a Barcelona hospital.
A statement posted to Shakira’s website read, “The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification.”
“Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth. The hospital confirmed that the couple’s first child weighed approximately 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and that both mother and child are in excellent health,” it continued.
