‘The Following’ series premiere brings in 10.4 million viewersKevin Bacon’s new show, “The Following,” is off to a great start in the ratings. According to a Jan. 22 report from TheWrap.com, the debut episode for the serial killer drama attracted 10.4 million viewers on Monday night.

“The Following” had a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 crowd, making it the second highest premiere of the season for a drama series behind NBC’s “Revolution.” It also helped Fox secure the number two spot behind CBS in overall ratings. Along with “Bones,” this was the best Monday night for Fox since last January.

“The Following” is Bacon’s first scripted television series in which he has played the lead role. The 54-year-old actor, known primarily for his work in the ‘80s hit film, “Footloose,” has had many guest television spots over the years. Some of the shows in which he has made an appearance include “Bored to Death,” “American Playhouse,” and “Guiding Light.” He has also lent his voice to Cartoon Network’s “Robot Chicken” and an episode of NBC’s “Frasier.”

“The Following” airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
