Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the latest Bollywood actor is going places. After his powerful performances in Gangs of Wasseypoor, Kahaani and Talaash, he has won hearts worldwide. After struggling for 12 years in Bollywood he has gone from a watchman to a internationally acclaimed actor.

His acting in Patang was well appreciated in Cannes and Berlin Film Festivals, his subtle acting talent was praised by world’s most reknown critic Roger Ebert. And he also happens to be one of the very few Indian actors who has been recognized internationally.

However, it’s really sad that an actor of such caliber is not recognized in Indian film industry. He wasn’t nominated for any of the awards in India. This is the perfect evidence to show that Indian film awards are purely based on popularity looks and not on talent.

Nawaz feels formula films no longer work for the present audience who are pretty much fed up with mindless and cliche flicks. He thinks movies with proper logic, strong script and true acting are the ones which will setup the new trend.

Nawaz is now associated with three international co-productions with Dar Motion Pictures. Arun Rangachari, the Producer says, “Nawazuddin is one of the most talented actors of our time. He is also now being increasingly liked by the audiences after Gangs of Wasseypoor and Talaash. We will be working with him on Monsoon Shootout, Lunch Box and Haram Khor”
