The Bollywood “Ghanta Awards” also known as the Indian “Razzie Awards” which gives away awards for the worst performances in bollywood is back with its 3rd edition. It was started in 2010 as an independent comedy show and has evolved into a huge awards event over the course of 3 years. This year, this hilarious event will be hosted by comic group East India Comedy’s stand-up comedians Sahil Shah, Sorabh Pant, Kunal Rao and Sapan Verma. We can for sure expect lot of comic stuff happening and already lot of movie buffs are eagerly waiting to embrace the show.
Sahil shah also known as “joke shah” is all excited about hosting the show says “We have seen some terrible movies last year and the best way to repress those memories is to make fun of them. This is the first time celebrities may pay us to make sure the award is given to somebody else”.
And guess who’s the jury for these awards, they are none other than most renown film critics Rajeev Masand, Sahil Rizwan, Karan Anshuman and Sudhish Kamath.
The popular categories that are included in these awards are worst actor, worst actress, worst director, worst film, worst song, and worst rip-off. Only actor who had received the award personally so far is Sonam Kapoor when she won worst actress award for Mausam and she took it very sportingly followed by a sarcastic speech of acceptance.
Talking about acceptance speeches Sorabh Pant says “We’re also planning some ridiculous acceptance speeches since 90 per cent of Bollywood is not going to come and accept the award. Sonam was awesome to pop in last year,” The event will be held on 15th February and winners will be announced based on online poll.
