The lengths to which some people will go these days to get money from the rich and famous get longer and more outlandish every day. TMZ recently reported that Justin Bieber is in trouble and being investigated on gun control charges. . . for a Nerf gun.
You read that correctly. The brouhaha is over a Nerf dart. Apparently, when Justin Bieber was in Ottawa, Canada back in November 2012, he was playing with his 3-year-old brother and 4-year-old sister. They were having a Nerf war. One of the darts went off target and hit a woman who was standing off a little way from the playing children.
Reportedly, the woman, who said she was a security guard for the venue, became very upset and called the police. A full police report was filed and the cops seem to be taking this one very seriously. Interviews have already been conducted.
Admittedly, getting hit with a Nerf dart, especially if you’re working, could be annoying and distract you for a few moments, but it’s doubtful that it hurt or caused damage. Justin Bieber was playing with toddlers. If it were that dangerous, would he be using the Nerf toys to play with his very young siblings?
One wonders whether she pitched the fit and called the cops before or after she noticed it was Justin Bieber. This one is more than a little ridiculous. I don’t know the laws in Canada, but if this case ever sees the inside of a courtroom, I hope the judge tosses it out as a frivolous lawsuit.
