Jennifer Lawrence beats Meryl, won’t tell us her favourite curse word

Jennifer Lawrence beats Meryl, won’t tell us her favourite curse word

Jennifer Lawrence believes she isn’t experienced enough to give advice to other young actors. The Silver Linings Playbook star, who was recently nominated for her second Oscar and also won a Golden Globe Award on Sunday, turned down an offer to appear on the respected Bravo show Inside The Actors Studio with James Lipton because her acting style is unconventional.

The 22-year-old actress told Entertainment Weekly “Do you know how much that guy would hate me? ‘Tell me about your method?’ There is no method! I never know my lines! He would be horrified. I love that show but I’m not old enough. I’m not at a place yet where I can look back and think ‘Oh this how I….’ I’m not ready. And, please, I’m an animal.”

Whatever method she’s using is working. Lawrence is making the rounds on the late night show circuit following her win at the Globes on Sunday and appeared on David Letterman’s show last night, clarifying her most recent acceptance speech. Controversy erupted after many viewers believed Jennifer was slamming her fellow nominee Meryl Streep when Lawrence told the audience upon accepting the award on stage “I beat Meryl!”.

The line is actually from the film The First Wives Club and is used by Bette Midler’s character when she pretends to accept a Golden Globe. And AS IF any actress would be silly enough to make fun of Streep in Hollywood. They excommunicate you for that kind of stuff down there.
